"Let's see why Lourença liked do Paço." This is how the text begins. O Paço, by Agustina Bessa-Luís, is an autobiographical text with fictional elements dedicated to the author's childhood. It's a text about the memory of a place and the family that lived there. Agustina's father was born in the manor, and Aunt Amélia lived there; Agustina acknowledges her as the inspiration for the character Quina in the novel The Sibila. The film unfolds from the counterpoint between Agustina's text and the record of a passage through what is now the house and the Quinta do Paço estate.
